An Open Letter from CEDIA
Dear reader,
As the world of smart home technology continues to evolve, technology integrators are taking this tech to the seas and allowing clients to have a similar experience on their yachts. For this reason, CEDIA has decided to partner with Superyacht Technology — an engaging and informative platform for all your superyacht news.
Welcome to CEDIA
CEDIA is the international trade association and central touchpoint for 3,700 member companies that represent every facet of the ever-evolving technology market. The association powers integrators’ passion by providing development pathways that move them to the next level through education, community, resources, and vision.
CEDIA members deliver technology solutions that allow people to have their best moments in life from the comfort of their own home or yacht.
CEDIA has advanced the industry by developing timely industry education and certification; launching research initiatives; advocating on legislative issues; building relationships with architects, builders, and interior designers; and educating the consumer.
CEDIA offers year-round training and certification opportunities. The association is committed to offering education that helps members become experts in their field, and the CEDIA Certification programme is constantly expanded and updated to mirror technological advances. CEDIA provides comprehensive opportunities for its members to learn every aspect of the residential tech business with boot camps, webinars, trade show courses, and much more. CEDIA complements its hands-on training with online education products.
CEDIA’s consumer website provides end users with information about technology amenities along with a complete list of members who can deliver the services a potential client needs.
CEDIA Awards
Established in 2006, the CEDIA Awards is the home technology industry’s most prestigious awards scheme, celebrating technical excellence in design, installation, and integration across the globe. Each year, CEDIA members worldwide put their best projects forward — installations that set the standard for custom technology integration.
CEDIA’s Awards schemes give members the chance to be recognised on a global scale by fellow industry peers, by the public, and by potential clients. When looking for an industry professional, clients want someone who they can trust and who they know will deliver. Awards can quickly and accurately portray this message on a company’s website and through word of mouth, allowing your business to gain further promotional benefits.
Winning a prestigious award can also mean extensive editorial coverage in a wide range of consumer and trade publications. This can lead to increased recognition and a good reputation, as the more people that know about the great service your company provides, the more people will want to be a part of it.
One of the categories in the CEDIA Awards is Auto, Marine or Aircraft. Entries for this category must be an auto, aviation, or marine installation. At least two residential home technology professional installed systems (e.g. music, video, lighting control, health monitoring, or security) are integrated together to provide enhanced entertainment, convenience, safety, health monitoring, and system reliability for the client.
Russian-based integrator, Luxury Engineering, was awarded Best Auto, Marine and Aircraft at the 2017 CEDIA Awards for one of its latest yacht projects, Varvara Yacht, which features the latest state-of-the-art AV technology.
Luxury Engineering provided an easily adaptable system that allows the client to scale and adjust based on the current needs — whether it’s watching one of the more than 600 movies that Luxury Engineering programmed into the media server on the main deck or in an individual cabin, hosting business presentations that can be viewed on one of the multiple plasma panels, or a karaoke competition.
